Hard to argue with a straight face that we have the best civil liberties when we can't safely go outside, especially if our governments are counterfactually telling us it's totally safe

I mean the libertarian idea that just letting people do what they want until we all have the virus counts as "civil liberties" is so obscene and perverse it makes a joke out of the whole concept
