Random thought of the morning: Bob Parr (aka Mr. Incredible) probably saved way more people's lives as an insurance adjuster who helped people navigate a corrupt insurance system than he ever did as a superhero.

Of course they'll notice if all the claims that go past your desk end up getting paid, that's money out of their pocket It's no different than if he worked at the supermarket and was giving away free groceries
-
Yeah nah. Grocery stores sell you grocery; these customers literally *bought* their policy. Theoretically your insurance company is supposed to, like, insure you. It’s in the title.

How many bosses have you met? Because that doesn't actually track.

That's not the point of OP. It's about what we consider meaningful ways to "help people" - sure he could get fired, but the narrative would never treat... fr ex him starting a nonprofit DEDICATED to helping people navigate bureaucracy as an adequate alternative to superheroing
-
I agree with the point, especially if applied to Batman&etc, but my argument is really more that in this specific case, I think Bob Parr went back to super-hero-ing bc he felt trapped&unable to do good in a mundane way.
