Look my point here was that work sucks and always will suck and the goal is always to do less of it If you ever lose sight of this fact people will fuck you over It doesn't matter whether the system you live under is called "capitalism" or nothttps://twitter.com/arthur_affect/status/1259630632637874176 …

God what a fucking fundamental betrayal The fact that in Stalin's USSR it was strongly encouraged to snitch on your fellow workers if you thought they were a "wrecker" or a "shirker" or a "hoarder" and weren't sacrificing for the country hard enough Fuck that shit

I agree to a degree, though still think a certain amount of work is healthy, psychologically. I know I wish I could go out and do my job during this crisis (I was laid off). I get really unhappy with constant downtime, I need some kind of structure to feel good.

Yeah, I think Chu's point that ultimately you want people to only do as much worth as they need to and have as much leisure time as they can is indeed important. And also his point about Leninists/Maoists overvalorizing work. *But* being unemployed is depressing.

A boss is still a boss whether it’s a billionaire with several yachts or The People.
