Yeah okay I'm gonna chime in and say that the left-utopianism that centers around self-sufficiency and despecialization - "Everyone will take care of THEMSELVES and then it won't be work!" - always sounds incredibly naive to me

Maybe if those tasks are done by machines so efficient and cheap doing it for yourself constitutes pushing a button But no, I don't think it's realistic for the whole population to grow their own food, generate their own power, or pump their own water and sewage

Also I don't think that actually does make it not "feel like work" or actually make people feel happy and self-actualized If specialization is supposed to be one of those bitter fruits of modern capitalism (I very much doubt it is) then I doubt it's going away
