The LS ending of KotOR 1 is more about you (Revan) and your own redemption arc, whereas the DS ending is more about the Jedi Council and the story of how their own tragic hubris fucked them over

Kind of like how the actual prequel trilogy is a lot less satisfying if you really do focus just on Anakin and trying to see things from his POV but is a lot more interesting if it's the story of how Yoda and Obi-Wan failed him

Revenge of the Sith's novel is much better in this regard. making gets an actual motivation!

Honestly it's that whole general problem with these movies not knowing who their main character actually is Like there's a lot of stuff that points to Obi-Wan or even Yoda being at least co-protagonists and yet we never really see through their eyes enough for that to happen

And yet Anakin, who is clearly supposed to be our real protagonist, still comes off as a flat character who exists to pose problems for other characters

A lot of people have pointed this out, that TPM especially feels like a movie that "wastes time" a lot -- a common refrain in bad reviews -- and it's because we spend all this time with characters who we're not given any reason to like or sympathize with

Even on just a basic acting and shooting level, never mind writing in their backstory or whatever Like the Jedi Council is just no fun to hang out with or look at for very long and yet we spend so much time hearing them talk and worry about things

It's really ripe for parody *mumblemumble* "And what say you, Jedi Master #27 with the weird frog face" *mumblemumble* "Good question, Jedi Master #15 with the T-shaped head, I TOO have sensed a GREAT REVERGING DIVERGENCE in the NETHERWORLD OF THE FORCE"

I mean yeah Robot Chicken did a skit making fun of this Basically the fact that in the Council scenes no one has a pesronality or a differing point of view, there's no actual discussion or debatehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2emv5A7OlVM …

Asking the question of what would happen if one of the Jedi Masters *didn't* just wait their turn to deliver one line of what is essentially one long speech
