A fun fact about Monopoly is it was originally invented by a woman as a game about the evils of landlords and bloodthirsty capitalism. Her idea was stolen by a dude who got ludicrously rich by selling it to the Parker Brothers and taking credit for the idea

yes exactly.

Very weird story. This lady invents a game that gets knocked off several time over without her knowledge and then when a knockoff version does well enough the company circles back to her in order to cover their ass and she still didn't know.

If she'd had the money to hire her own army of lawyers she could've sued them over that because it was a contract in blatant bad faith Getting away with it because the other person can't fight doesn't make you right
-
I hate this view of the law people have where being able to get away with it means what you did was objectively legal and no one should whine or complain about it anymore Is OJ objectively innocent

Well, I'm sorry but that's too bad, per the law. My avatar isn't Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes for nothing. She got a raw deal but she should have gotten better adviuce
-
The "better advice" would have required an inside man at Parker Brothers to leak to her that they'd already signed a big deal with some random dude from Philly who'd stolen her idea
