I think my curse has always been there's a lot of books people generally dislike because they were "shoved down their throats by English teachers" and I happen to usually genuinely really enjoy them

Well the movie version of Frankenstein is highly reminiscent of Of Mice and Men, with the dumb childlike Monster, although the book's Creature is very different

Even then, I have been prone to arguing that, even unintentionally, the film kind of pulls the book's "which is the real monster" because the Creature is childlike and innocent, while Frankenstein is a raving lunatic with a God Complex.

Oh no it absolutely does, the film's Monster and Lennie from Of Mice and Men are very similar and their deaths are both a tragedy
