Yeah, & most of the others wind up joining Jack either because they think "playing savages" will be more fun than what Ralph & Piggy want of them, or out of fear (first of the imaginary Beast they think Jack can protect them from, and then later of the wrath of Jack & Roger).

Honestly, they don't turn into "savages" (for all various things that implies) so much as... fasco-primitivists I guess would be the term?
