Where should the culture be on this then? I'm not going to pretend I understand Heidegger or feng shui but I have lived in a materialistic culture my whole life. I wish I knew what's the best approach.

I dunno, I'm not particularly good at knowing the right amount to value stuff myself, I just think pathological hoarding is obviously a problem and whatever means people have to get out of it is a good thing
