This is correct. If you think businesses operate along some linear scale that where income-expenses-profits all smoothly track each other in the same ratios, then you've never run any sort of business.

The point is that the people calling for reopening don't actually care about the welfare of business owners or employees - they're happy to see those businesses go under anyway as long as they don't have to subsidize their employees' unemployment
