Okay sorry I'm still on this I can't believe there's now widespread footage of Anna Kendrick in a scene where she's trying to seduce an adolescent boy At least that's what it looks like "out of context" (and with context it's... the same thing but stupider)https://twitter.com/arthur_affect/status/1256910613214687233 …

How the fuck did they get Anna Kendrick to do this Of all the people in Hollywood This could be a whole convoluted subplot of Bojack Horseman

Because I'm me I have to point out that this is a totally blindsiding move, like there was no indication before episode 9 of this show that pedophilia jokes were going to be a thing Like it's debatable whether this joke would be justified if it "made sense" but it doesn't

Insofar as there is a "core theme" to this show -- the whole thing where Barbara is supposed to be the voice of Cody's anxieties, like it's a satire about always judging yourself based on your attractiveness as a woman -- Barbara being into teenagers has nothing to do with it

You could make it have something to do with it if you wanted to delve into the psychological reasons that Barbara (who is really Cody herself) is a pedophile, the narrative of abuse victims wanting to retake power etc. But this fucking show doesn't have the depth for that shit

And like the other theme of this show is that this whole thing happens because Cody and Dan made a deal for radical honesty in their relationship especially about sex, right? That he's finally decided to be upfront about the sex doll thing and she can't handle it?

Well her not being honest to him about *being a pedophile* is kind of a big fucking deal isn't it Like objectively a way bigger deal than the sex doll thing One that substantially materially impacts his life, if the kid's mom changes her mind and decides to press charges

I'm sorry, the whole point of Quibi seems to be that they didn't actually expect anyone to download the app or care about the shows (hence the dubious decision to make it impossible to screenshot the app or stream it on TVs) But holy shit man

God I checked out of Dan Harmon's whole fucking deal when the Megan Ganz stuff came out And now his new fiancee actually seems to be worse than he is I can't deal

They should have mentioned the guy was supposed to be Harmon in the trailer. Really burying the lede there.

Yeah it's weird because it's kind of like the main thing this show has going for it PR-wise but they wanted to downplay it because it's supposed to be a feminist thing
