Seeing "Dr. Ford" trending reminds me anew of how much I hate when PhDs who are not medical doctors want to be addressed as "Dr." It undermines authority rather than underscores it. That goes for you, too, Dr. Jill Biden.

Yes, I get your point, but some of us worked for years for that Ph.D. (D stand for DOCTORate). Women especially in these fields need whatever authority they can get. I promise I won’t try to heal ur body.

If this is what you think the purpose of a title is then why don't nurses, orderlies and EMTs get to put "Dr." on their name Or for that matter essential frontline workers in grocery stores, warehouses, slaughterhouses and farms

No that's what I'm saying, they're risking their lives to keep people alive as much as MDs do, so why aren't you calling them "Dr"

Okay so why get worked up over it either way If they don't care about titles what skin off your nose is it if someone cares about theirs

I personally don't care if some stranger calls me "Arthur" or "Mr Chu" Some people get really upset about being addressed on a first name basis, especially by someone younger than them or someone working for them
