And she's there because she's a contrast to, say, Mr. Burns or to Roger Meyers (who owns the studio) She gets to be the faux-liberal buzzword spouting MBA style rich person, who's easier to hate because she's a woman She's the leader of the nasty childfree organization etc

Namely that her running gag recurring role is popping in to be the actual out-of-touch manager who fucks up working class people's lives (as opposed to Burns being a parody of rarefied 1%er aristocrats) Like, both of those groups are still mostly men

*Especially* the "clueless network executive" stuff That was a thing revealed from the Sony leaks, that the percentage of women in executive positions is still vanishingly low Aside from Amy Pascal herself (who got fired because of it) it was like single digits

Over and over again the gag was some clueless white lady ruining the show based on marketing buzzwords but in real life a huge percentage of the time those rooms of clueless executives are still rooms of 100% white guys
