There was a review of Little Nicky, I think, that said "If the quality of a film were reflected in how fun it appears to have been to make then Little Nicky would be the greatest movie of all time (just as Apocalypse Now would be the worst movie of all time)"

Jfc imagine having randomly met Adam Sandler and struck up a friendship with him in college and then 20 years later you're getting paid $150k just to fly out to New York or Vegas or Honolulu all expenses paid to be the butt of a fat joke in one scene Over and over again

"My job is being one of Adam Sandler's fat guys" I'd take it in a fucking heartbeat

i mean, i prefer my comedy to have some friggin effort put in, but its easy enough to just not watch them. Same thing with tyler perry

I can agree with that. Like, I know it's probably a fallacy to think one movie is responsible for "stealing" another's chance at box office success, but...I'm still sore about GROWN-UPS 2 overshadowing something with as much work behind it as PACIFIC RIM on opening weekend.

The Op possibly hasn't read anything about a set with Adam Sandler on it...

I'm reminded of Bruce Campbell's explanation of how he ended up in the movie Congo ("Dude, I got *paid* to take a trip to Brazil!")

Yeah, a lot of his comedy album and SNL work is a lot better. I mean, if some of his movies were more like this...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25IOsvWPQGQ …

It's fucking obvious Sandler is more talented than the majority of his oeuvre would indicate and he just doesn't feel like putting in the work when he gets paid so much for coasting It was obvious before he started directly admitting it
