Do you believe we should subject all children to invasive, unnecessary medical treatment, regardless of a lack of medical concern or risk? Cause intersex kids like me do not need monitored and medically suppressed for not conforming. Something we are fighting against

@JayGee47505179 was making exactly the same arguments that we hear from paediatric urologists and endocrinologists; I'd say that, yeah, she probably does believe something along those lines.2 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

DSD supersedes Intersex as the appropriate term. So that is what I have used. Use whichever makes you happy. When it comes to pelvic examinations, all of it is invasive. Just ask any endometriosis patient or woman having IVF. So, not unique to DSD.https://www.healthychildren.org/English/health-issues/conditions/genitourinary-tract/Pages/Explaining-Disorders-of-Sex-Development-Intersexuality.aspx …

Oh, *hell* no ... you really need to read this response to a dude who tends to take that same, bullshit, interphobic stance. https://twitter.com/benmcginnes/status/1254142157784408065 … All ten tweets, plus the 4 RTs for "DSD history" refs appended to tweet 7.

Ah, the ever popular “I’m going to throw -phobic at you because I don’t agree.”
I gave you a cited link to the pediatric medical organization. The clinical term is DSD, which many Intersex prefer. You’re free to call yourself what you like.4 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
Here's a few obsolete clinical terms: Gay bowel syndrome (for sexually transmitted rectal infections). Idiot. Imbecile. Mongoloid. Moron. Gay related immune deficiency, or GRID (currently known as AIDS). I think it's time for DSD to also become obsolete.

I am intersex
@intersexfacts is not ( Claire Graham; her own statement), and is actually a sock, as she is permabanned from Twitter for abuse. DSD is not an acceptable term. intersex/variation in sexual characteristics is preferred by real intersex people.1 reply 2 retweets 13 likes -

Damn right! I'm not intersex myself, but it's not exactly difficult to decide which term to use when describing any group of people. Just. Ask. Them.

Doesn’t always work. I have asked groups of people with a common characteristic to agree which word should be used to describe them & they have been unable to reach an agreement. They were groups of 15-20 people. I imagine it would be harder with larger groups.

Agreed. The flip side, of course, is when we get people with no "skin in the game" insisting on using the terms that others find offensive, because freeze peach, etc. Add in the ones who take offence for the sake of taking offence... This world isn't easy1

Okay but 50 intersex orgs put out a damn statement explicitly stating they were opposed to the medical establishment popularizing the "DSD" term Why do you give Claire Graham and her Twitter clique equal weight to themhttps://ihra.org.au/35299/joint-statement-icd-11/ …

@arthur_affect I will assume that wasn't a reply to me, lol. Twitter's awkward that way. Here's one of Claire's friends, from the site that she claims "welcomes DSD..." (sic/sick) Don't be like Claire.pic.twitter.com/4sSOLysK40
