I mean on some level I think this is fine and healthy There's a whole bunch of stuff in this big universe that's beyond our control and understanding and whether you "believe in God or gods" is a way of describing how you feel about that but it doesn't change that fact

The other stuff is there -- a personal emotional relationship with God as parent or lover or object of devotion But the core is the Law "These are the rules, this is how it works, this is the procedure by which we exchange sacrifice and worship for safety and prosperity"

I think lawyering is Abrahamic. I think Eastern religions tend towards a scientific cause and effect model. Morality as a force of the universe, not as some legal system of a creator being.
