i've said it before, but the thing about the mcu now is that the entire galaxy is divided into two classes of people who have each gone through world-shattering yet almost irreconcilable traumas the blipped, who the world left behind and the survivors, who had to watch them die

this is the bane of crossover events: to make them exciting, they need to profoundly disrupt the status quo--but then that means overturning the status quo of *every* series ongoing on that world, which few writers really want to do
