Fuck you. I've been at work this entire time ensuring that senior living centers have had power & water. You've been making self-aggrandizing videos while 22 million people lost their jobs, and now you mock them for it. Fuck. You. You deserve all the hate you get.

He is mocking the people who literally want those 22 million people to risk actual death just so they can keep on working as they die and pump up the stock prices of their employer

I've always found "false consciousness" arguments patronizing but finding people in Bob's mentions earnestly treating "Open Up America" like it's a movement of the working class unfortunately validates the whole concept Sheep marching demanding to be slaughtered

Dude, believe it or not very few people are Jeopardy champions who can sit in their houses for months on end with no income & no light at the end of the tunnel to give them hope. The numbers on this virus have shown it to be substantially less lethal than the models forecasted.

Giving people *false* hope of a light at the end of the tunnel that you don't actually know is there is pretty evil, and it's more evil the darker the tunnel is

It's precisely because the situation is so bad that any new decisions have to be made with extreme caution JFC you're like the people who sell juice cleanses to treat cancer and then defend themselves by going "Do you know how bad cancer is?"

And they "are" being made with extreme caution. The talk right now is to open up parts of the economy that are lower-risk in areas that are also lower-risk. It's going to take the better part of a year to develop, manufacture, & distribute a vaccine.

No, they really really aren't, they are setting us up for the exact same disaster as the 1918 flu pandemic's with a far deadlier second wave in the fall

Hate to break it to you, but since we don't have herd immunity & won't have a vaccine till the end of the year at best, we're getting that second wave ANYWAY. On a side note, there's really little more pathetic than retweeting yourself.

How did Taiwan manage to get to no new cases without a vaccine? It wasn't by just shrugging their shoulders and deciding to let people die until they got "herd immunity"

I can't believe people are acting like actual containment - the first and best option for any infectious disease - is just a totally impossible fairy tale just because Trump decided he didn't want to bother trying We've seen it work multiple times

look but you see, taiwan is a dictatorship, south korea has a tradition of deference to their leaders, and nyc is so much more dense than singapore
