John Wick is still going strong, I reckon. The Vengeance Trilogy is critically praised. The POTC Trilogy has been re-evaluated in recent years. Toy Story 3 is regarded as a strong film.

John Wick isn't a planned trilogy, though - it was conceived as one film and now it's at least four.

I... don't think this is true, since the whole reason the PotC movie exists is Disney capitalizing on the IP of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland/Disneyworld

It's actually kind of the other way around, Ron Gilbert at LucasArts said his favorite ride at Disneyland was always Pirates of the Caribbean and that's what inspired him to create the Monkey Island series, so that's why they feel similar
