* LOTR, movies or books, do not count, as in both cases the author/filmmakers made them as a single unit and released them over time

Like, let's look at trilogies: Batman (Nolan): good first entry, legendary second, middling third Mass Effect: great first, great second, great third but with an abominable ending Star Wars: great first, great second, abominable third

My friends were in the middle of the credits (I had looked up the ending, they did not) and were starting to rage when I managed to distract them with a mild joke. The last enemy, technically the final boss, is a turian named Shields. He was trying to shield us from the ending.

Yup, there was a whole comic series someone made where Marauder Shields is the hero Except, the actual final boss is Marauder Health

ah, jokes. The mass effect ending controversy is rather quaint in hindsight. At least back then gamers were mad about an ending being emotionally unsatisfying and not mad about, yknow, women existing.

Eh... while not as acidic as nowadays, I do remember some butthurt over the boxart. Speaking of, if you're reconstructed as another sex and don't seem to care either way, are you potentially trans?

Presumably non-binary yes. Does that happen to anyone in ME?

Between 1 and 2, its the explanation for any femShep, as in 1 (like Saints Row) you could only be a guy. Shepard dies in a ship destruction and gets rebuilt completely, sometimes as a girl, as I recall.

Its not often something like this happens to me. Usually when it does its more like 'that one house by the road I pass every day to work may or may not exist.' And less 'Link only has an earring on his left ear.' Though I forget what version is true of this one right now.
