just because every other faction leader has the option to call him a Pusillanimous Wimp doesn't seem to stop him from cheerfully nerve stapling his own citizens and voting to melt the polar ice caps he'd absolutely murder the captain if he thought the captain deserved it

Yeah but it doesn't suit his agenda is the thing, his agenda is, at least as far as we know, the same as the Captain's The whole point is he's the only one sticking with the original charter the UN gave them instead of making up a new one

Actually I'm reading the thing they wrote about what the Captain's assassin says to him before he dies and I'm pretty sure Deirdre did it

Of all the different factions the whole "We will NOT repeat the mistakes of Earth" thing honestly fits her the most And it's the most satisfying answer, the fakeout with everyone thinking of her as the good guy even though Morgan calls her out on being as fanatical as anyone

Arguably Miriam also fits I know Miriam is technically opposed to Zakharov but with the way the mind worms go she's just as much a Deirdre opponent

This may be partly an effect of being a save-scumming Deirdre main who always reloads to capture dozens of mind worms before encountering any other factions and then sweeps over the globe, leaving one enemy base intact so as to allow for a Transcendence ending

I literally have no idea how to play the game above the easiest setting without effectively starting with at least five mind worms

The beef between Morgan and Deirdre is also why I think Morgan is a red herring He's set up for you to hate and fear him - he's not even supposed to be on the ship, he's a stowaway - but he ultimately thinks of himself as a reasonable businessman

He's in it for his own comfort and safety He didn't even try to get an official job on board the ship for that reason, it was just easier to sneak a pod on and be confident the Captain would be too nice to throw him out the airlock He wouldn't blow everything up to make a point

Well yeah except he was able to stow away because his company actually built the ship
