For some reason we still have this problem where we so easily mistake this subculture stuff that's all about *aesthetics* for an actual value system or belief system
It's like the dizzying slow realization that the post yelling at Disney for cultural appropriation is from a *white Hawaiian* who thinks Lilo & Stitch is *reverse racist*
Yep, I was surprised (though not THAT surprised) to hear she was criticizing from the right. I had assumed she was doing it from the "left"
She carefully phrases everything to make it sound like it's "from the left" culturally, basically calling Lilo an "abuser" Same as her friend defending white colonizers in Hawaii by saying making fun of them if you're not from Hawaii at all is "appropriation"
Do you have receipts on her being a Trumpist? I noticed some conservative-ish attitudes on her Twitter but nothing explicitly Republican.pic.twitter.com/j0gedN24FU
I can’t wait until she gets to Gen X children’s media, bet she thinks Max from Where the Wild Things Are is Kid Hitler.
This kind of thing is *very* common in fandom. There's a lot of it, also from women, in the Star Wars fandom.
