Since then it's only become easier to vote absentee and early voting has been introduced in many states.

Well, again, if the votes that are already in have a margin of victory too large for the absentee ballots to make any difference, that makes sense

Yeah - I mean, one thing is that most elections are called, and for the most part, the losing candidates concede, even though it's mathematically POSSIBLE for them to come back, just staggeringly unlikely.

Like if there are 105,000 outstanding absentee ballots, and the margin is 100,000 votes, then yeah, they could all go for the losing candidate, but it's not realistic.

sure but like as long as those kinds of decisions are being made, absentee votes have less priority than in-person votes

Well, it means early votes count more in that sense than late votes, but if you vote by mail you can vote earlier than anyone
