I mean I'll wind up doing it if I get my residence straightened out but I generally find it hard to believe absentee ballots are ever treated with more authority than simply a polite request

Like, this is an issue for sending in absentee ballots late Whereas in states where vote-by-mail is common a lot of them come in early

Yeah - I mean, one thing is that most elections are called, and for the most part, the losing candidates concede, even though it's mathematically POSSIBLE for them to come back, just staggeringly unlikely.

Like if there are 105,000 outstanding absentee ballots, and the margin is 100,000 votes, then yeah, they could all go for the losing candidate, but it's not realistic.
