Yes.... everyone with a PhD is a doctor...and should be referred to as such...all of my anthropology professors are Dr. but not medical doctors....

People use ellipsis in a variety of ways colloquially. I understand not liking her insistence to be called a dr. in the public eye because of this common misconception, but it doesn’t mean she’s wrong

She’s not wrong & everyone knows that people with a PhD are doctors, I think the point is that even a lot of people (with/without PhDs) agree that if you’re not a medical doctor & force people to call you doctor & emphasize it at every given moment, you’re kind of arrogant.

Why is it normal for MDs to always be called "Doctor" then? The degrees are of equal "rank", why is one a special class of person and not the other
