The "fun" thing about my life now is that I can absolutely picture with fairly high confidence what the world would be like if basically any fantasy scenario happened. Vampires, aliens, wizards go public, whatever

Like, tell me you can't picture Trump giving some kind of disingenuous press briefing about arming police with more stakes as vampires prey on minority communities across the country, while other folks write thinkpieces about how the real vampire is capitalism

And then you'd have people posting on Twitter that their family got eaten by vampires and we need more hunters immediately and everyone would agree, but somehow there wouldn't be any more vampire hunters and it'd still feel theoretical to most people

You'd read "5 bodies found drained in lake" in local newspaper, noting that they stopped mentioning drained of what or by what bc everyone knew, but you'd still assume you probably wouldn't be next

Some of your friends with type O negative blood would be posting about how scared they were. You'd try to reassure you. Some asshole would say we weren't really sure if the vampires prefer type O negative anyway.

Mitt Romney would announce he was taking the vampires very seriously. He'd cosponsor a bill with Ted Cruz and AOC to fund more stakes. It would pass, but Trump would ignore it. He'd insult Romney, and Pelosi for good measure.

Someone would post an article asking if vampires are really worse than ordinary serial killers. The numbers would be clear, but they would still bring this up a lot.

When Gozer the Gozerian demands that humanity choose the form of its destroyer, what it didn't tell them was that the form, whatever it was, would manage to be both horrifying and soul crushingly dull

      Replying to @BootlegGirl

Honestly this was already a theme of a lot of zombie fiction, like you always get to the point where there's a stable community that gets overconfident because killing zombies isn't all that hard
