I just had a vivid memory of designing an Angelfire site in 1999, 21 years ago. I could remember the sensation of typing and the look of the old UI and everything. This is weird to me.

Like, according to what I've heard, the body cycles through all its cells every 7 years or so, and that means that I have to have replaced the physical neuron 3 times for every part of this minor, inconsequential memory. how is this possible?

(Neurons are one of the cells that that doesn't apply to, along with bones IIRC.)

The cell doesn't divide in order to make new cells but the cell itself does cycle out the molecules that make up the cell, that's what it means for a cell to be alive
