Yeah, but the bad guy lightsabre is red and crackly so we know it's evil.

Rey doesn't even dislike it! She uses it to take down Kylo! And its actual most extended use is during the fight where she and Kylo are working together!

Like Kylo kills Lor San Tekka and Han with the saber, but by numbers the most people it's killed would be a tie between Snoke's guards and Sith Eternal

He's implied to have killed Luke's other students with it

Well, I guess the timeline of that is off, he only had his Jedi lightsaber when the temple burned down but then there was some other stuff that happened later

Yeah, he didn't kill anyone with a lightsaber at that point, he ran away and hunted them down later after he'd fully turned

I think Star Wars still does hew to ancient morality that says killing your own family is the absolute worst thing you can do though

I mean not that killing kids is usually all that much better but still

They don't actually say it but I figure in Black Panther that's why there was that huge coverup about what happened to N'Jobu, why Zuri quit the military and became a priest, etc Even if he did break their highest laws and committed high treason T'Chaka broke a much older one

I'm not sure I actually agree with this morality, like I don't think it says much positive about you if you are willing to kill innocent people and justify it because they're not your kin, but old school morality sees family differently

There was a thing where they specifically told the people working on MAD policy in the Cold War that they weren't allowed to tell their family about it Not just a security thing but a principles thing, it would be wrong to warn your family to move to the desert ahead of time

If you're going to pursue a policy that might get New York nuked and kill millions of people at once then you need to be willing to do it whether or not your family is among those millions, or else not do it at all
