One reason I refuse to accept the whole "Star Wars is allowed to not make sense/be good because it's FOR CHILDREN" is that from the very beginning, one or more of the protagonists have basically always been drug dealers

The charismatic outlaw is a stock character in adventure fiction, including children's fiction, which always raises the question of what crime exactly you're okay with the outlaw committing Smuggling drugs is really the least morally questionable option usually
