Those whose lives were saved by the 442nd would disagree, as would their hundreds of descendants.

The descendants of the 800 Japanese-Americans who died to save those 200 white Americans, of course, do not exist and therefore cannot give their opinion on it matter

So now you’re getting into the mud about certain lives being worth more than others. Fact is, lives were saved. Some were lost, you’re never gonna balance it out like a checkbook. Enough with your pathetic angry act dude it gets nothing done

Cool so why don't YOU step up, then Asians have been stepping up for white people since we got here, why don't you take a turn at it and let us be the ones being dicks demanding people prove their loyalty for a change

I’m not demanding anything. But if you’re feeling powerless, being helpful is more edifying than being angry. Love > hate.

So why didn't WW2 end all racism against Asians if that's the way racism is defeated?

Righhhhht so you’re going to be so obtuse as to suggest racism is just as bad for Asians now as it was in the 1940s lol Gtfoh and don’t forget your clown shoes on your way out

To the extent things have gotten better, the militant campus organizing in the wake of Vietnam (from which we get the term "Asian-American" in the first place) probably has more to do with it than people spontaneously feeling bad about WWII

Do you think reparations were paid in the 90s because that's just how long it takes for white folks to start feeling bad? Like Clinton just woke up one day "Gosh! It's time to pay those reparations!" looking at a reminder Eisenhower put on his calendar

Like it has nothing to do with the generations of activism from Japanese-Americans on exactly that issue, many of whom were EXTREMELY not nice and not polite about it
