They just press hard reboot on him. Which I have mixed feiling. Because as much I enjoy Thor Ragnarok theme and some of is sense of humor/action. I do partly agree with those that dislike it. It also does the same to the other Thor movies with more contempt than Infiniti War.

So it sorta fit in the sense that none of the Thor film really fit him just right and were they left him in A:IW can lead him to some other interesting places. Thor at the end of Ragnarok felt well final for the character. Which made the movie better but bad for endless sequels.

I don’t think that’s true. His lightning mode resembles berserker rage. He couldn’t enter at will—it required focus and struck him mid-battle, very much like in Norse mythology.
