Well, people don't complain nearly as much about cop unions and conservatives have no problem with them, because they vote for republicans. In michigan, police and fire were exempt from right-to-work law because of this. Supreme court ruled against, but the intention was obvious.

But what that did prove, cynically, is that unions do work and conservatives know it. They just don't like it.
