I thought it was Quadriticale? The "quad" prefix subbing for the "tri" prefix, indicating that it was more futuristic and more advanced.

No, because the "tri-" in "triticale" isn't a prefix meaning "three", it's from the Latin word for wheat ("triticum") Real life triticale is called that because it's a hybrid of wheat (genus Triticum) and rye (genus Secale)
