The question "is it reasonable to ask everyone to sacrifice literally their entire waking lives and hide like they're in war bunkers to protect vulnerable people" would never be asked if the vulnerable people weren't more or less evenly distributed through the population

If the coronavirus targeted ethnic minorities or trans people, there would be no quarantine orders. Which isn't to say that the lives of the vulnerable victims of COVID shouldn't be protected. Just that this wouldn't happen if different people would die.

Yes and I did think of that but it also *does* infect hetero people. It just happens to be that specific social circumstances (and characteristics of gay sex) basically meant gay people were at more risk.
