Even then they can't actually *cancel* the election and get the polling places closed They can tell the state they won't be seating their delegates and the election doesn't count, but they can't stop them from still holding it That's what happened in Michigan in 2016

Fair enough: You can believe that the DNC should decide not to intervene or permit changes to the rules set ahead of time. Not the same thing as saying it has no role in the process. Now we're talking about assessing the DNC's decisions, so I'm satisfied. Thanks for the reply!

I don't believe for a second that if Tom Perez had said "We just had an emergency meeting and we're not seating any delegates from contests held during the coronavirus outbreak" everything would now be chill and fine The people yelling about robbery would be yelling louder
