When people talk about "percent" in this context they mean percentage points of the total number of voters Not the percentage of the votes that particular candidate got When they say a discrepancy of 4% is a red flag they mean if the exit poll says 28% and the vote says 24%

What the post going around does is make the percentage a percentage of Bernie's votes, not all the votes So there's a discrepancy of 20% vs 23%, and the guy divides 3% by 20% to get 15%, then says it's a "15-point discrepancy" This is massively dishonest

Yeah, that sort of tampering seems way too unsophisticated anyway. But, like just in general, given the history of US interference in foreign elections, especially foreign elections favoring leftists, it’s not completely tin-foil-hat to assume some level of domestic interference.

Okay see the thing that makes these conversations suck is turning it into this abstract discussion of whether such a thing could happen rather than looking at the numbers and asking what did happen

ah, so is it basically "the exit poll said 10 people wrote in tom hanks, but the results only had 5. that's a 50% discrepancy! clearly the party is willing to rig the election to suit their anti-hanks agenda!"
