Who wants to have to sell your house every time you want to move Or, if this is a cashless utopia where private property ownership per se has been abolished, find someone to trade houses with you

Coops run by housing managers hired by a board of residents, ideally.

I have never wanted to be a homeowner. I don’t want to garden. I don’t want to paint or decorate. I want to feel I can get in a car and go anywhere. I appreciate renting

I would support public/social housing but the anti-landlord thing annoys me because I rent and to buy a house, a mortgage payment would be the same as my rent and then I would have to pay for repairs and either do yard work myself or pay an hoa fee
-
I also feel like universal homeownership would push more people to live in detached homes which is worse for the environment because most apartments would become condos with an hoa making them potentially more expensive than a detached home

TBF that sounds like a very American kind of blindness. Wanting to own something instead of share it in commons.

Because if you start to, people get really vicious about landlords being evil parasites. And like, slumlords are evil people! But some people want to rent a home and landlords can provide that opportunity!
