It's inevitable that people care more about the presidency than anything else but primary elections are regular elections and I don't like normalizing the idea that if there's no contested primary in your party you can just not vote
That's not really true and I just told you why it's not true It's true to an extent of caucuses but primary elections are run by the state government

Oh. Well, that’s somewhat encouraging. So the lack of recourse is pretty much the same as any electoral lack of recourse, and it’s not that it isn’t technically an option but rather that it doesn’t go anywhere and we all just kinda deal.
