I've always been really pissed that Whole Foods has a reputation as a "progressive" company for reasons that are almost entirely cultural bullshit that doesn't actually matter when as companies go they're one of the worse ones And yes this was true before the Amazon buyouthttps://twitter.com/nickbilton/status/1239067692214018049 …

Self-improvement and wellness are very popular among libertarians. Both have been coopted into signs of wealth and power.

It's not illogical to assume that without a social safety net, you can help yourself by doing everything you can to be healthy. The libertarians' error is assuming they have 100% control over their circumstances. Somehow THEY won't be the person with an undiagnosed condition.

I will never forget John Mackey using his wife's account to sockpuppet a bunch of message board posts about how handsome John Mackey is (among other things, like union busting)

I worked for WF for only 2 weeks and the culture a libertarian CEO creates is just toxic. Even if the individual worker is nice. Friends worked for WFM for years & they have some stories!
