People resonating with Thanos as a film protagonist should have been a disturbing clue to how they'd handle this epidemic. He was so much worse of a person to identify with compared to (for example) Darth Vader, but this was totally overlooked.

The whole "The Republic is corrupt and incompetent and the Jedi are elitist do-nothing jerks" thing had potential but by the third movie it's just gone, Anakin's betrayal doesn't actually make any rational sense and it's just him going off the deep end

The Clone Wars is perhaps the most successful fix fic involving a children's cartoon about a man who has already murdered many children ever made and is probably why people remember the prequels making as much sense as they do
