I’ve never said there’s an ‘essential self’. I’ve made it perfectly clear I do not believe in a ‘self’ prior to, or independent of, your body. That is the belief of those who wish to alter their body surgically and hormonally to bring it into line with their ‘true self’.

The self isn't in the body either, it doesn't exist period

Or, rather, it's a socially constructed concept, it exists only because we believe it exists and interact with each other on that basis From an "objective" perspective a living and dead body have exactly the same atoms, etc

Now you are just ripping off Watchmen. I’ve already stated one of my reasons for rejecting ‘innate gender identity’ is that I reject innate identity; that your sense of self is constructed through interaction with others. But you interact with others via your body.

Right, which means that as @9BillionTigers points out, none of this shit is about "objective truth", it's about how you choose to treat people

Your body is still an objective fact; the value placed upon it is social. Being male or female is not a value, it is a fact. Society placed less value on women; that is a social fact. Every one of us was born of a woman; that is a brute fact.

Your body is not an objective fact. Physics & chemistry are generally assumed to underlay biology as biology underlies psychology. All is atoms, fields, voids, etc; "body" is a social type, a private feeling you've so thoroughly imbibed you now claim it's objective to harm others

It’s not ‘assumed’ that physics and biology underly biology, it is known. Your body is made of the same matter as everything else. This isn’t an argument that biology isn’t real, just that there are levels of abstraction. It doesn’t mean there are no sexes.

Not levels of abstraction, say rather levels of organisation. That undercuts the “abstraction isn’t real” argument.

No, categories imposed on the world by humans are very much levels of "abstraction" not "organization" (there's no conscious being doing the organizing)

Organization doesn’t need to be done by a conscious being; that’s one of the effects of biological evolutions. And where does “organization”, say for instance cells, stop and “abstraction”, fr instance mental/brain states start?

But we're talking about biology itself as organizing principle (metaphysics), not organizing principles within biology, like "cells" (physics). The claim biology is our true, real or univocal organizing principle is trivially dismissed. It's just a ledge where you can spit on me.

Also humans are absolute shit at coming up with categories, which is why when someone suggests the way certain categories were originally formulated no longer works some people just lose their shit.

This is what I was trying to get at by bringing up the "crocodiles and birds are closely related" thing elsewhere in the thread. We often discover our categories don't work the way we thought they did.
