Organization doesn’t need to be done by a conscious being; that’s one of the effects of biological evolutions. And where does “organization”, say for instance cells, stop and “abstraction”, fr instance mental/brain states start?
-
But we're talking about biology itself as organizing principle (metaphysics), not organizing principles within biology, like "cells" (physics). The claim biology is our true, real or univocal organizing principle is trivially dismissed. It's just a ledge where you can spit on me.

Also humans are absolute shit at coming up with categories, which is why when someone suggests the way certain categories were originally formulated no longer works some people just lose their shit.

This is what I was trying to get at by bringing up the "crocodiles and birds are closely related" thing elsewhere in the thread. We often discover our categories don't work the way we thought they did.
