This really is the end point of postmodernism. If you aren’t your genes, variation and the environment you are a free floating entity. If you can be anything then everything can be you. It’s Pan-Chuism.

Your body is still an objective fact; the value placed upon it is social. Being male or female is not a value, it is a fact. Society placed less value on women; that is a social fact. Every one of us was born of a woman; that is a brute fact.

I'm trans & also (strategically) reject the concept of innate identity (as compared to declared identity). But I also reject that any bodies are innately similar to form two sexes. Similarity is a social metric, never innate. So we class things in ways that help us thrive.

And how does it help women ‘thrive’ when biological men take their sport from them or take up places on ‘all-woman’ shortlists? How do they ‘thrive’ in mixed-sex domestic violence shelters or prisons?
