Really? Genetics? Not phenotypic development? Huh. I’d expect even a transphobic gender essentialist to focus on phenotypic development. When you say “genetics,” do you mean having XX sex chromosomes, or lacking an SRY gene?

What do you mean by phenotype if it isn’t an expression of genes interacting with the environment? Do you believe phenotype is independent of genotype?

“Genes interacting with the environment” isn’t the same thing as just genes, right? The moment you concede that the same gene can express in different ways in various circumstances, you’re no longer in “just genetics” land.

Do you believe Arthur Chu when he says he could have been born into another body and yet have still been him?

What I meant by that is I would have a "different body" if ANYTHING changed in my childhood I would have a different body if I got in a car accident at the age of four, or a chemical burn at 15, or a drug overdose at 32 Being conceived with different genes is the same thing

There is no "essential self" written into DNA Your genes are accruing mutations constantly anyway, that's part of what aging is

What is physically real is physically real Jesus Christ The lay understanding of "DNA" is like Zodiac signs to these people

If someone is standing in front of you and you can see that they have red hair, they have red hair If you can see they have breasts, they have breasts If you can see they have a beard, they have a beard The process by which it happened doesn't change the fact of what you see
