Blood donation centers are not testing blood for COVID-19 They don't have a test and it isn't transmissible by blood so they have no need for it

They do NOT screen for "mostly anything", they don't have anywhere near the money for that They screen for the most common and serious bloodborne infections, and those tests are not perfect, they rely on screening out anyone with symptoms from donating in the first place

Even if you don't believe me, believe that the first thing they do is take your temperature, blood pressure and pulse and if anything looks off they send you home without touching your blood So you've wasted your time and possibly gotten the worker and the other donors infected

They might also do a finger stick to run a quick test on a droplet. That is NOT a COVID-19 test! They're checking if you're anemic because it's not a good idea for anemic people to lose blood.

Yeah it's impossible to test for any disease with one drop of blood and by creating the impression that this science fiction stuff is plausible Theranos has probably done lasting harm to public health

What do you mean? Antibody tests can work with a single drop; I get an HIV test every few months and it’s a single drop.

I believe Arthur is saying that you can't test a single blood drop sample for all possible diseases. You need separate samples for each set of tests.
