This multi-stage game theory headache stuff is literally why they made up the "galaxy brain" meme I'd really rather assume, to a first order approximation, people vote for what they want to happenhttps://twitter.com/krystalball/status/1237574423982424064 …

I think the perceived spectrum for the Sanders vs. Biden thing is more "People secretly disagree with me but their actions betray the lie, whether they realize it or not"

Haven't M4A and GND displayed that support when polled on, though? (Note: I've assumed selection bias was more of the issue.) Put another way, I've been assuming people are voting for Biden because they want Biden to be the nominee - not necessarily because of policy.
-
Yeah, this. They want a nominee who they think can beat Trump, and while he may not match with all of their preferences they likely see him as “close enough”, at the end of the day.

Isn’t it just another way of saying voters went for Biden because they think he’s more likely to win even though he may nit align with them on every issue? Cause that’s not galaxy brain game theory. It’s just fairly regular voting behavior.
-
Yeah - and people are pretty clear that voted for Biden because they thought he could win, more than because they agreed with his ideas.
