Maybe I'm just a big fat idiot but I lost most of my personal enthusiasm for the primary when Warren started spiraling downward and it pretty much killed my sense the country was actually moving leftward - if it were, then it actually would be a Bernie vs Warren election

The fact that Warren's collapse didn't empower Sanders, whose numbers stayed stubbornly stable, so much as helping Buttigieg and Klobuchar on the way to helping Biden, tells me it was really about perception of competence and character not policy in the first place

(And if people react to this thinking "That just proves Lyin' Liz and her supporters were closet centrists this whole time", fine That doesn't change what I just said)

So wouldn't that mean it's Warren supporters who care more about their candidate than about leftist policy? Why is Bernie base responsible for this? Should they have just blindly switched to Warren for no reason? Accusing the Sanders camp of personalism seems like projection 2 me

I didn't say that, I said it's true of the electorate in general

If there's one thing I know, it's that Americans don't actually know what they want, by and large. And if they do, it'll just change when the wind blows.
