After seeing how the last poll in the UK did, and how Macri in Argentina still got about 40% of votes last elections despite the trainwreck he caused, I'm not even remotely surprised. The right wing is a tad more popular than people are willing to admit.

I'm honestly worried that this has more to do with conservatives registering as democrats for the primaries to stack the deck rather than people actually liking Biden. At least in the latter case he could have a shot at winning the GE.
