Hello! I have important news. The novelization for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker says the Exegol fleet has "tens of thousands" of ships. So the official count is TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DEATH STARS lol

This may be hard to believe but the TROS book is actually making the movie worse by driving home just how thoroughly embarrassing this story is. The book is filling in plot holes I didn't even know about.

Did you know? In order to fix Kylo Ren's helmet they had to scour the wreckage of that big star destroyer that Laura Dern blew up in the last movie, and gather up all those little pieces that he had left in that elevator.

Canonically this entire story takes place over 16 hours but even the story itself doesn't buy it. At one point in the book Rey is like "how long has it been since I last slept?" Like bro the last time you slept was last night

I get why she would be tired obviously. She did lots of fighting and a physically impossible amount of traveling and shit. But the choice of wording is funny because it's like even the author forgot about the ticking clock

The film has that classic JJ Abrams "urgency" (Urgent! Emergency!) Like the whole thing with Jannah being all "There's a storm right now, let's go to bed and come back in the morning" and Rey's all "No gotta go NOW"
