The really bizarre part about that is that it's literally a stereotype that the big tough masculine guy loves his mom and would kill anyone who would threaten her. These people took the flattest stereotype and cut out the only thing that gave it any sort of depth.

I mean this is intentional, he called the organization "Proud Boys" because he hates that song and everything he thinks it represents about liberals They're the "Proud Boys" because they're proud of *themselves* and don't need some maternal authority to tell them they're good
