Okay, so then the whole thesis of the article, which is that "Bernie supporters" represent a certain specific demographic (the working class) and by voting for Bernie I am signaling solidarity with that demographic, is false

Noooo, it's the author of the article who seems to think that, by saying that there's one candidate in the race "the working class" suppprts

I don't think either of those things, which is why, in point of fact, I am *not* throwing my support behind Biden because "Black people" supposedly support him

You don't seem to get how the whole "By that logic, I'd have to do X!" argument works It means I don't think I have to do it

Fine, it's not just that I don't think I "have to" do it, I also don't think I "should" do it, that doing so is a "better choice", or that "it would be really nice" I think it's fucking stupid - more than that, it's impossible, as in the principle contradicts itself

It is not at all clear by what possible standard you can confidently say Sanders is the only candidate who "represents the working class", especially if you take the author's advice and set aside all your fancy book learning and, I guess, just listen to polls and shit

You could make this exact same argument for voting for Biden Or, hell, for Trump - in fact Trump supporters DO make this argument, constantly

So you're saying that if it does end up being Biden and Trump in the general election I should vote Trump out of working class solidarity?
